View from the farmhouse attic window (last days of February, 2026)
I spent some time thinking about this watercolour sketch. What I wanted was to not only show the view over the rooftops, but also the faraway mountains. These last few days have been bright and spring-like, with particularly beautiful light which has the effect of making everything look brighter - even the most mundane of buildings with dull plastering. Admittedly, this made me want to make the colourings more vivid than they actually are. One final aspect I wanted to portray was that the window frame was like the frame of a painting.
