Artefacts from my youth/Sketches of ships

I was looking through some old boxes recently and came across some sketches made  when I was probably 8 - 10 years old. I was fascinated by ships at that time and so drew  - naively - all kinds of ships from books, the TV and my imagination (often it seems a hydrid of all of those). One possible inspiration was the TV family drama The Onedin Line about 19th century shipping at the height of the British Empire. A clip is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=REwWWcGpg3w

My sketches can be seen attached here.

What I became aware of was that these represented the artefacts of part of my youth and I pondered to what extent they resonate with who I am now. It's a natural thought, not over-philosophical, one that we all have when digging through old boxes at home to discover something - a picture, a diary, an old concert ticket etc. I framed these old sketches and put them upstairs (I wonder how long I will keep them there). I remember a book by Margaret Forster called The Memory Box:

which sort of touches on a similar theme.
