The new house: update May 2022

 Well, the new house is finished and finally liveable. I'll show a few photos to give you an idea. This is the outside entrance where you see our new name plate and house name - Mulberry House - as it was an old silk worm farmhouse years ago (as were so many houses in this area).

Outside the whole structure looks like this. Plenty of parking space, a red roof (my wife's special request) and lovely beams.

Inside there is a fairly spacious attic converted into a study room (potentially an extra guest room). This is the view from the attic downstairs. The beams show the open ceiling we had made (previously  it was covered). We're really happy with the new dining table which seats 6 easily like a country farmhouse table.

Downstarirs is the main kitchen/dining area. Teddy chan, our Teddy bear, is waiting for his morning coffee at the counter!

That's all for now. We're thrilled with the work done by the company which renovated everything - Yamada juken - and on the two occasions we have been back in Okaya at the farmhouse, friends (thanks, Mary) and family have been steadily popping in to look round and chat.
